WWMP is the Water Supply and Wastewater Management Programme of the German-Egyptian Development  Cooperation, executed by the Ministry of Housing, Utilities and Urban Development (MoHUUD), the Holding  Company for Water and Wastewater (HCWW), the regional water companies in Qena (QCWW) and Kafr el  Sheik (KSWC).  The programme was established in 2007 and is financially supported by the German Federal Ministry of  Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and technically assisted by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für  Internationale Zusammenarbeit GIZ.   The programme supports the Egyptian water sector reform, particularly in setting up the holding company and its  affiliates in charge of drinking water supply and wastewater management. It emphatically aims at improving the  institutional framework conditions and the institutional performance capability of the sectoral organisations.  Beside of a binding agreement with the Kreditanstalt für Wideraufbau (KfW) for financial cooperation in  Qena Governorate, there is a strong cooperation with the Centrum für Internationale Migration  und Entwicklung (CIM) to strengthen the managerial capacities in the companies.
